The SBS Drone Reeds were developed over a period of 2 years. The aim was to create a stable reed that produced a sound quality to rival that of cane reeds. These reeds were developed to capture the best method of setup with regards to adjustability. The use of a screw in tuning pin changes the internal volume far more effectively than the use of a small grub screw.

The body of the SR2 reed is made from the very latest material, a specialised Epoxy Resin. This was chosen to closely match the resonance and sound of the cane reed. A uniquely designed tongue bed was created to allow straight carbon-fibre tongues to be used. This ensures replacement tongues can be easily obtained.

The body of the SR1 reed is made from Derlin. This was chosen to create a a long lasting reed. A uniquely designed tongue bed was created to allow straight carbon-fibre tongues to be used. This ensures replacement tongues can be easily obtained.
